How Daylight-Savings Could Prolong Your Life

Sunday, Nov. 4 marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. At Sensible Heating & Cooling, we suggest using this annual calendar occurrence as a reminder to replace the batteries in your home’s smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. It’s also a good time to check that both are in optimal working condition.

In Colorado, any existing single- or multi-family dwelling offered for sale or lease on or after a specified date, with a fuel-burning heater or appliance, fireplace, or attached garage, must have an operational carbon monoxide alarm and smoke detector within 15 feet of any bedroom. Good thing because poor-functioning HVAC systems could lead to residential Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning; a danger far greater during winter months, when the doors and windows of your home stay closed to keep cold air out, and fireplaces, gas heaters and other fuel-burning appliances are in use.

Call Sensible Heating & Cooling today at 720-876-7166 to schedule an inspection of your home’s boiler, furnace, and/or other systems before winter is upon us. If an inspection reveals the need for a HVAC equipment, Sensible offers 18-months zero percent financing with approved credit on installations.
