Geothermal Energy

Upgrade to geothermal and never pay for heating oil or natural gas again. The Sensible home geothermal system replaces your home’s existing air conditioning and heating equipment — since geothermal can heat and cool your home.

Geothermal systems use ground source heat pumps to serve as a stable heat source that helps maintain comfortable indoor climates all year long. Not only that, but there is very minimal noise with a geothermal system. Since traditional furnaces and air conditioners need to work harder to adjust temperatures, they make more noise, while a geothermal system’s stable heat source allows it to work less while achieving the same result. When the work is completed, there is no mechanical equipment visible outside the home.

How Geothermal Energy Works

Our Sensible team installs an underground loop filled with fluid that captures heat from the earth in the winter, and also rejects heat from your home in the summer. In winter, by using a geothermal heat pump unit, heat is transferred from the earth, intensified, and can then be used to heat your home and hot water. In the summer, the same geothermal heat pump reverses its operation by capturing heat from the home, and a fan circulates cool, filtered air through the home’s ducts resulting in a comfortable indoor temperature year-round.

Energy Savings

Geothermal Energy Savings

If you’re looking to save on geothermal, now through December 31, 2032, you can receive a 30% federal tax credit for residential ground source heat pump installation. Learn more.

We’re also a full-service provider of WaterFurnace geothermal products for the Denver Metro Area. So whether you need routine maintenance, equipment repair, or a complete geothermal system, our team has the training and skills to build a solution that uses clean, renewable energy in your backyard to help you reduce energy usage by up to 70% on heating, cooling, and hot water.

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

Air Source Heat Pumps

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) are highly efficient and cost-effective heating and cooling systems that can be used for different-sized homes. ASHPs convert cool outside air into warm inside temperatures in the wintertime, and they reverse the cycle in the summertime using the same outdoor units to cool the home. ASHPs can be up to 350% more efficient than traditional HVAC systems.

If you’re looking to save on ASHPs, our partnership with Xcel Energy can help you save with nearly 30 rebates, rewards, and program opportunities. Learn more.

If your home is outfitted with solar panels, ASHPs can work in tandem with the solar panels to maximize heating and cooling, making them an inexpensive system to operate and run. Plus, if you want to have a more energy-efficient and green household, the combination of ASHPs and solar panels can help you reduce your carbon footprint. And under the right conditions, ASHPs can reduce your home heating and cooling expenses by an estimated 50% while delivering up to 3x more heat energy.

HEAT PUMP WATER HEATERS

Heat Pump Water Heaters

Heat pump water heaters are often used to replace natural gas water heaters if you want to opt for a more electric option. Heat pump water heaters use electricity to heat the water in your home, and the heat pump in these water heaters uses a compressor to transfer heat from one place to another, making it more efficient to use.

If your home is outfitted with solar panels to create electricity, you will see a reduction in your energy bills when used in combination with heat pump water heaters. By transferring heat, instead of creating it, you’re getting up to 400% efficiency compared to 100% efficiency.

Why Electrification

Home electrification and alternate energy systems are the way of the future, and here at Sensible, we’re focused on the alternative energy movement. So if you’re considering making the switch to green energy, we can help you figure out how much you can save. Learn more.

Become more energy-efficient

Reduce your energy bills

Minimize your carbon footprint

If you’re ready to switch to a geothermal system, air source heat pump, or heat pump water heater, you’ll be happy you did. And something worth considering before you make the switch is to do an energy audit so you can prepare your home for an alternate energy or geothermal system. An energy audit will show you where there are gaps in your current energy efficiency. You can learn more about energy audits here.

Our Sensible team is here to help you upgrade your current HVAC system to be more energy-efficient, retrofit what you have with a geothermal system, and help you figure out which heat pump solution is right for your home before we install it.

And don’t forget that you can save big on green energy by taking advantage of tax credits, rebates, and new regulations. In fact, Colorado regulations encourage the installation of solar systems, which can help generate up to 200% of a customer’s projected energy use.

WE’RE AN HVAC COMPANY FOUNDED ON THE BELIEF THAT ALL COLORADANS SHOULD HAVE ACCESSIBLE WAYS TO ADD GEOTHERMAL AND AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS TO THEIR HOMES. THIS ALLOWS HOMEOWNERS TO UTILIZE THEIR SOLAR PANELS TO CONNECT TO EARTH’S ENERGY.
