Xcel Energy recently announced featured 2016 rebates. Some of the key points that we thought were worth sharing:
- 2016 residential rebates will be the same as the 2015 rebates. Though they can’t make promises at this time, they said that 2017 and 2018 rebates will most likely stay the same as well (note that this does not apply to geothermal rebates, which will be ending in 2016).
- They are highlighting a smart thermostat rebate pilot program through 2016. Households can qualify for one $50 rebate when they purchase select models of smart thermostats (like a Nest system).
- If you had a high-efficiency appliance or heating and cooling system installed in 2015, it’s not too late to submit your rebate application! You have until July 31, 2016 to submit. (And the same will go for rebates for 2016–you’ll have until July 31, 2017 to submit.)
