Xcel Energy has announced their rebates for 2013.We have condensed some of the most important ones for homeowners to consider this year when updating their HVAC systems.
· Heating: Any homeowner who installs a high efficiency system can qualify for up to $100 back on their traditional furnace or boiler, as long as it meets standard requirements. If you are considering a geothermal heat pump, you will qualify for a rebate of $300 per ton, which makes these systems much more affordable.
· Water Heating Rebates: This rebate is one of the best ones that Xcel is offering this year – depending on the model and type of water heater you install, you can receive up to $450 back. They will also reward homeowners for installing a tankless variety of water heater with a generous rebate.
· Insulation: If you install attic or wall insulation this year, you will qualify for a rebate of up to 20% on installation and material costs, with a maximum of $300. There are some fairly strict requirements, so be sure to ask us about this to make sure you qualify.
· Cooling: The cooling rebates offered by Xcel this year are incredibly high, so if you are thinking of adding air conditioning this year, you have picked the right time. Based on the type of equipment you choose, you can receive up to $1,000 back. A lot of it is dependent upon the savings you will see, so please visit the Xcel Energy website for more details (http://www.xcelenergy.com/Save_Money_&_Energy/Find_a_Rebate/High_Efficiency_Cooling_-_CO), and make sure you know what equipment will get you the maximum rebate before installation.
