Tax Credits for Alternative Energy

As the year draws to a close, many people are looking for all possible tax benefits for the year 2011. One great way to help out your taxes this year is to increase the energy efficiency of your home by changing to alternative energy systems for your home. Here are a few things you can do:

Install a high-efficiency gas or propane furnace or boiler
Install a high efficiency air conditioning unit
Install a geothermal heat pump, which can provide both heating & cooling for your home
Install a high efficiency water heater, solar-powered water heater or tankless water heater
All of these equipment choices qualify, and you are allowed to take a certain tax credit for each piece of equipment. If you have questions, please call Dan at 720-876-7166 or contact your tax professional for more details. Sensible Heating & Cooling is happy to provide any necessary documentation to help you take the maximum tax credit allowed!
