The predictions are in! We are expecting a cold, snowy winter in the Denver area. This means that you will be running your heating system potentially more than last year in order to keep you and your family comfortable.
You may be wondering how to offset some of the costs associated with big heating bills. Well, here are a few tips for you!
- If your furnace is old, it may be costing you more than you realize to keep it running. Older furnaces tend to be less efficient than the new models. By upgrading to a new furnace, you can save money on your energy bills.
- Having a new furnace installed makes you eligible for rebates and tax credits. This year’s rebates and tax credits are great! We recommend getting a furnace before the end of the year hits – next year’s rebates and tax credits could be lower. (Or, they could no longer be offered in 2015! We can’t say for sure either way but all the more reason to jump on a new furnace now!)
- Having your furnace tuned up is a good idea before winter arrives. This will ensure that it is running efficiently and that you don’t have any potential problems.
- It may sound silly but you should change your filter! Can’t remember the last time you did it? Well, all the more reason to do it. The dirtier your filter is the harder your furnace will have to run and the more you will spend on your energy bills.
