The exact system is specd with 6 Viessmann Flat collectors and 180 gallons of storage. It will save between 40therms-79 therms if it is replacing a 80% eff. boiler and a standard water heater. Of actual use it will equate to $80 in the winter and $40 in the summer. Those numbers are real numbers that a 4-6 person family would typically see. If you install this yourself it will offer around a 7-10 year payback and if you have a professional install it it will take approx. 17-20 years. Thats after tax credits.
