When it comes to hiring an HVAC company for your heating and cooling needs, there are many choices. On the surface it may be hard to find any differences between the companies out there and who will treat you fair, provide quality service and who you should hire so you aren’t spending more than you should.
We have one tip to share with you when it comes to shopping for an HVAC company. It comes down to how the company charges fees. Here are some things to ask when you are shopping around.
· Find out how much the company will charge for estimates. A lot of companies will provide free estimates for new installations but can’t afford to provide a diagnosis of a problem for free. So, if you are having problems with your air conditioner or furnace, you should expect to be charged a fee for a technician to come to your home and figure out the problem.
· If you end up needing a new unit, find out if the company will put the diagnosis fee towards the replacement cost.
· A lot of HVAC companies will try to find a balance between the diagnosis fee and the repair charges. So, if you find a company that charges a very low diagnosis fee, watch out! Those companies may charge more for repairs.
