New Freon Better For The Environment

We have posted several blogs about what Freon is and how it works. (In case you missed those posts, Freon is used as a refrigerant. It is how your air conditioner can cool the air before it sends it into your home.)

What people don’t often realize about Freon is that it has changed over the years and has become more environmentally friendly. Air conditioners used to be made with what they called R-22 which has now become obsolete. New air conditioners are now being made with R-410 which is much “greener” Freon.

If you are considering a new air conditioner purchase to replace your old or worn out air conditioner, it is important to know that by making this purchase, you are upgrading to a more environmentally friendly unit. You will be reducing your carbon footprint not only by switching to the new Freon but also because most likely your air conditioner will have a higher SEER rating which will increase your air conditioner’s efficiency.

If you have any questions about replacing your old air conditioner or how the changes in Freon affect your air conditioner, please call Dan Schmied at 720-876-7166 or email him directly at [email protected]. Estimates are always free!
