Caring for a Geothermal System

Although a geothermal system will cost you much less to run than a traditional system, there is still a certain amount of maintenance that must be performed to keep your system running at optimal levels. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you have a geothermal system.

· Read The Owners’ Manual: Although our technicians will help you understand your system as thoroughly as possible, it is still important to read your owners’ manual and understand your system as much as possible. You have made a large investment in this system, and you want to make sure you care for it as you would any expensive purchase.

· Check Your Air Filters: As with a traditional HVAC system, clean filters are essential to keeping your system running efficiently and without problem. An inspection twice a year would be ideal.

· Check Pressure: Many systems use a horizontal loop, and pressure should never be low on these systems. Make sure a technician checks the pressure to keep it at proper levels.
